The Lakota Wolf Preserve in Columbia, New Jersey is a special place. Wolves that were born in captivity are able to live out their lives in the beautiful outdoors. There are also bobcats and foxes at Lakota. Wolves, and bobcats, and foxes, oh my!

Grover Cleveland was the 22nd and 24th President of the United States. He was the only President to serve two non-consecutive terms. He was born in Caldwell, New Jersey, where his father as the pastor of the First Presbyterian Church. The family moved away when the future president was four years old.

Glenmont, Llewellyn Park, West Orange

Thomas Edison purchased a large estate, Glenmont, in 1886. The estate is located in the exclusive gated community, Llewellyn Park, in West Orange, New Jersey. It is very close to his laboratories. Edison and his wife and children lived in this house, and many famous people visited the Edisons.

Thomas Alva Edison is well known for inventing or being part of inventing many things, including the incandescent light bulb, the movie camera, the phonograph, stock-tickers, and many others. His inventions changed the world more than any other inventor before or since.

Sandy Hook is at the very beginning of the New Jersey shore. It is a barrier spit extending out into the Atlantic Ocean. On one side is Sandy Hook Bay, and on the other side is the Atlantic Ocean. New York City is visible in the distance.

The Wildwoods in New Jersey are several beach towns by the Jersey Shore. The Wildwoods are considered to have the best beaches in New Jersey and some of the best beaches in the entire United States. There are several Wildwoods: Wildwood, North Wildwood, and Wildwood Crest. Wildwood is celebrating its 100 Anniversary this year!

The downtown area of Cape May, New Jersey is charming. It is a very busy beach resort town, and the beach is great – but so are strolling around, eating and shopping! To get to Cape May, you get off at Exit 0 on the Garden State Parkway!

It's great to be back!

The unusually warm weather -- it was over 70 degrees Fahrenheit for several days in New Jersey last week -- encouraged the cherry blossoms in Branch Brook Park to start blossoming early. Branch Brook Park, split between Newark and Belleville, NJ,  actually has more cherry trees than Washington, D.C.!

Kip's Castle, which is located partly in Verona and partly in Montclair, has an interesting history. The "castle" was originally built over 100 years ago by a wealthy industrialist, but by the 1980's a weird cult was living there, much to the chagrin of local residents.
