About the blog:
This blog started out as a blog about New Jersey and what was happening in this great state. But I was bored. Then the blog evolved into a personal blog about my life and my take on life in New Jersey, and also to post photographs taken mostly in New Jersey. I was hooked! I love both writing and photography!
I also write a blog about books and writing called The Literary Lioness.
About my photos:
Occasionally I took some shots with my old crappy cell phone camera (souffle, Costco photos).
My early photos on this blog (Haunted Hospitals) were taken with a very old Advantix camera. The photos weren't good because my camera was terrible and I had no idea how to take good pictures.
Then I moved on to a Sigma SA-7 35mm camera. But it got to be so expensive buying and developing film that sometimes I couldn't afford to take pictures.
I now take my pictures with a cute little Panasonic Lumix digital camera. It's so small that it fits into my pocket or purse.
I also now have an iPhone, and plan on getting involved with Instagram.
Now I can take as many photos as I want!
About New Jersey:
New Jersey gets a bad rap. It is a beautiful state in many ways. Yes, the view from the Turnpike is ugly, but every state has an industrial section. Trust me, New Jersey has beautiful beaches and gorgeous countryside. I hope to take photos of all of it! New Jersey also has a proud part in the history of the United States, dating back to pre-Revolutionary War days.
The funny thing is that after I started writing about New Jersey, the state suddenly became cool. I think the Sopranos started it. By the way, I don't know anyone who acts like the cast members of Jersey Shore, Jerseylicious or Real Housewives of New Jersey! Please! Many of them are NOT from New Jersey anyway!
