New Jersey Memories

Evergreens, Montclair, New Jersey During the holiday season, several historic homes in Montclair are open to the public for holiday tours. One of them is Charles Shultz House, also known as Evergreens .

Main Street Cottage, Verona, New Jersey There are several shops and businesses all decked out for the holidays in Verona and Caldwell. All of these places, except for the last place, have such adorable and pretty things that they are selling !  So festive!  In the first photo above, the adorable Main St. Cottage in Verona . So tiny but packed with such cute stuff!

The John Denver Rocky Mountain Christmas Special originally aired on December 10, 1975 – 40 years ago today! The special comes off as a little bizarre at times, but very interesting. Denver was an extremely popular singer at the time. The video above is recorded from a repeat in 1977. It even includes commercials that were part of the 1977 re-broadcast! I find the commercials just as intriguing as the show – they really capture the era. 

English Cottage at Gingerbread Wonderland The Frelinghuysen Arboretum is currently hosting the Gingerbread Wonderland until Sunday, December 13th.  Many creative structures made from gingerbread are being displayed. Next weekend there will also be a craft show !
