Sea Girt Lighthouse in pretty little Sea Girt, New Jersey is a sweet little lighthouse. It is different, because the little light tower is actually part of the house. Most lighthouses are separate structures from the keeper’s house.

After you enter the house, you see the little parlor.

To get to the light, you must climb a small ladder:

You can see the light:

The views from the lighthouse are great.

There are two wonderful websites that you tell you all about the lighthouse:

ReplyDeleteMuch easier than climbing the Cape May Lighthouse!

It's an adorable little place.
DeleteI love that house - and I love Sea Girt! I grew up going to the beach in Spring Lake in Sea Girt. Such a great area!

It must have been a nice place to live . . .

It is adorable.
DeleteThis is definitely not your typical lighthouse! The keeper must love being able to live there too, so close to the water and a lighthouse as a portion of their home. How many people can say that?
ReplyDeleteI believe the keepers must have enjoyed that house. It is a really nice little house, even if the light tower is tiny.
DeleteWhat a quaint place and totally the Jersey coast! My SIL/BIL own a B & B in Cape May but we've only been to NJ a handful of times....:)JP
ReplyDeleteThe Jersey shore is beautiful. Cape May is one of my favorite places in the world.:)
DeleteOh wow that is beautiful!! I love lighthouses! There is one I saw when we were searching for our honeymoon destination that you could stay in. It was out on the water so you had to be taken there by boat. I can't remember where that was, but that is where I want to go on vacation one year soon.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a lot of fun!
