The Spring Lake Boardwalk Is Being Rebuilt

On a beautiful day in lovely Spring Lake, New Jersey, many people were out on the beach watching the ocean. The surf was ferocious, but that didn’t stop the fishermen!

Spring Lake didn’t sustain as much damage as other shore towns, but the boardwalk in Spring Lake was ruined by Hurricane Irene and Superstorm Sandy. Currently, workers are busy getting the boardwalk ready for the summer! They are also replenishing the sand and the sand dunes. The sand dunes are necessary for the protection of the beaches.

  13. Good to see Spring Lake is getting back to normal. I still can't believe how bad some towns got hit. We visit Point Pleasant in the summer for day trips usually - and I was happy to see it is pretty much back. I haven't been to Seaside since I was a teenager, but its so sad to see how that has been recovering & may never be the same. I heard many businesses on the boardwalk won't be returning or can't return. Bummer. My friend has s summer house in Ortley and she said it's still terrible there. It;s going to be years before some of these towns can get back to the way they were before- if they even can. I live up in NW NJ so I have only seen the recovery on TV and internet.... not in person yet.
