One of my favorite "secret" gardens in Montclair, New Jersey is tucked away behind the United Way Building on South Fullerton Avenue, next door to the Montclair Public Library. The Avis Campbell Gardens are"designed and maintained by the Garden Club of Montclair."
The types of flowers found here in the spring and summer vary as the seasons change. Montclair's town flower is the tulip, so many of the early flowers are tulips. In May, the town goes mad for tulips! Fortunately those are probably my favorite flowers. They are all over town! Montclair is starting to look like a mini-Holland.
Perhaps someone viewing these photos will know what some of the non-tulip flowers are.

Oh, the tulips are so beautiful!!!
I'm stunned! The array of colours is fantastic. Boy you really have a spring explosion there. We are just starting on the wildflowers, but it will be weeks before the tulips, daffodils and blossoms make an appearance.
I know Montclair...I know where the library is...and I never noticed that garden. very nice.

Despite the persistent cold weather until this week, the flowers were DETERMINED to bloom. The leaves on trees are still lagging behind.
I just love tulips. I'm glad Montclair decided that tulips would be the town flower.
So far we're seeing lots of tulips and daffodils. And of course the cherry blossom trees.
Yes, it's hidden away behind the building next door to the library.
