Moving On!

Saturday, September 11, 2010

Hi, everyone! My one-year anniversary of this blog was on Thursday, September 9th. I completely forgot about it because I have been so busy.

Anyway, Happy Blogoversary to me!

I moved to a new apartment last week! It has two whole rooms! It is so much nicer than my old one. Two rooms seems luxurious now. The layout of the apartment is much better, too. I really like it. It's going to look cute when I decorate it. My boyfriend is just going to have to accept the fact that an apartment with tablecloths, wall art, and other accessories is mandatory for a female. I lived for two years with nothing except cardboard boxes everywhere (that's his idea of decorating in a one-room apartment). No more! I already own all of those accessories, and they are coming out!

I thought that I would have internet access two days after we moved, but the cable company never showed up. Finally, we convinced them to show up a week later. Wasn't that nice of them? They tried to blame the mistake on us, because they did not give us a work order number. Isn't that their job? Of course, I had no e-mail access during a critical time with numerous projects that I was doing!

As I just said, I was involved in several difficult projects that had to get done. I will write about them in the future after they are over. I just can't write about them now, while I am still going through this turmoil. I'm not talking about the great unpacking and decorating job, either, but something very serious. I'm truly enjoying unpacking and cleaning because I'm so happy to be out of that other place, which was so depressing. It was like living in a cave.

Today is the ninth anniversary of 9/11, the most tragic day in our nation's history. I was planning to show some photos I took in 1997 of the World Trade Center, but that will have to wait.

Anyway, it's great to be back and blogging again! My posting might be intermittent during the next week or so while I get the apartment ready, but I'll try to be good.

  1. Congrats on the move and happy unpacking! And yes your bf is just gonna have to come to terms with a woman that shouldn't take him long and he will know what a dolly is.

And Happy Blogaverasry. One year is such a huge mile stone.

  2. @FeliciaE -- "he will know what a dolly is" LMAO!

One year is a huge milestone. I knew nothing about blogging then. My blog really looked pathetic at first. I keep PDFs of my blogs in their various incarnations, so that I can look back and smile.

  3. Congrats on the new place! Hope it starts to look and feel like home soon. :-)

  4. @Saucy B -- It's beginning to feel like home already!

I love decorating :) Thanks for the nice comments!

  6. Congrats on the new digs! I always find moving to be one of the most stressful experiences but once you're settled in, it's fun to decorate and make it your own. and also, that's wonderful you've just reached a year on your blog! good for you, girl :)

  7. Congrats~the moving process isn't much fun, but "new" is always an adventure!
