Branch Brook Park in Newark, New Jersey, hosts the largest cherry blossom festival in the United States every April (yes, even bigger than Washington, D.C).

The cherry blossoms can be quite intense (but beautiful) in the spring.
I grew up within walking distance of Branch Brook Park and was probably there at least once a week.
Sleding in the winter, cherry blossoms, ice skating rink, watching my uncle play soccer...lots of NJ memories!

This year was the first year we had heard about the cherry blossoms. Too bad for us that they bloomed earlier due to our warm weather and they were almost done when we arrived. Next year I will keep a closer watch on the whole blooming process and try to catch them at their peak!

@caite -- Branch Brook Park is beautiful. I know people hear the work "Newark" and think it is all ugly, but that's just so not true. Men play bocce there, and everyone sits on the grass underneath all the beautiful trees and relaxes.

Gorgeous. Gorgeous. Gorgeous!!! I love cherry blossoms. They are an awesome backdrop for photos and are so pretty to look at. I didn't know that somewhere else had a bigger display than DC, but clearly y'all actually have a center dedicated to it. We don't, LOL. Great photos.
